The Golden Bough
The mistletoe, a evergreen plant growing as a parasitic plant, can have its leaves as green as before and still bear white berries even if all the leaves of its host tree has fallen off. As mentioned by British anthropologist J. G. Fraser in his work The Golden Bough, after cut off for several months, the broken mistletoe will change to golden, looking like a plant of golden boughs. Therefore, it is usually regarded as "the golden bough of life". The description of this special parasitic plant and the myths and stories about it can be seen in many documentations and resources.
金枝
槲寄生，顾名思义，就是寄生在其他植物上的植物，当寄主植物的绿叶脱落时，它仍碧绿如故，结出各色浆果，因而它通常被认为具有“重生”的意指，被认为是“生命中的金枝”。已故的英国人类学家J.G.弗雷泽，在他的著作《金枝》中提到，折下来的檞寄生存放几个月后，会逐渐转变成金黄色，使得整个树枝看起来就像是一根金枝。在许多的文献资料中也曾多次提到过这种奇特的寄生植物，以及相关的神话传说。
